MY CLINICAL BACKGROUND-
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
After twenty six years working in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings and in private practice for twenty-one years, I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups from all walks of life presenting a wide range of changes they wish to address. (Problems to Change)
I have 1600 hours of Master-level training through Loyola University-Chicago with 1,600 hours of supervised clinical training for my masters in Clinical Social Work (provision of direct psychiatric treatment) and one year post Masters training from The Institute For Juvenile Research in clinical work with couples and families. As required for state certification, I have far more that the required hours of annual advanced education and training in most every possible topic clients bring into treatment.
My clinical experience is augmented by my background as a Jr. High school teacher and college educator; certified court mediator; direct and indirect experience in businesses start-ups and employment issues including job loss and job search skills and small and corporate business functioning; work with the Military both as a clinician and to promote services to military personnel and writer and producer
of a sixty-minute relaxation audio tape and current web site
to support client in-session work.
I have published articles in The Wall Street Journal on individual/family and employment topics (receiving annual recognition) and other publications on a variety of clinical topics
